But above each pair is the apex of a triangle, a point of consciousness which includes and absorbs these pairs at the level of Truth, Beauty, and the Good. This Higher Third is the source of, the creation of; and the complete synthesis of its lower correlates. The lowest triangle is based on the 'ground' of manifestation; the highest lifts one to the One and the Many, above which is the One without-a-second, and beyond that ?

Why this resistance, then, to a doctrine that alone explains so much that nothing else explains ? The 'accidents' of class, and sex, of colour and environment; of mental make-up, introvert or extravert; of early likes and dislikes, aptitudes and inabilities.
